‘I have a dream, also’: Alveda King, MLK's niece, brings anti-abortion message to Park Ridge church
In the spirit of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his niece, Dr. Alveda King, said she has a dream of her own. St.
Paul of the Cross invited Alveda King to speak at the Park Ridge parish to help kick off its commemoration of Respect Life Month in October. She’s also a former college professor, best-selling author and a former Georgia statehouse representative. In her talk, she drew parallels between the civil rights that her uncle advocated for and her efforts. She referenced scripture that addresses common life questions people may have for abortion and said that while God does give people a choice between the life and death of you or your child, it does not say it’s yours to choose. Lake Zurich resident Pietrina Probst said the presentation was worth sitting in on.
Probst sat watching the presentation with her mother, and she said that she’s previously seen Alveda King talk on news programs. During the question-and-answer session after her presentation, one member of the audience asked whether Alveda King had been uninvited to speak at a college graduation ceremony because of her message. She said it does happen and she tries to look past that. She said she doesn’t feel her stance on abortion is a divisive viewpoint that should separate people of different races. Alveda King: “‘President Trump Turns Out to Be a Samson!’ Alveda King Asks for Prayer after ‘Hot Meeting’ in the White House”
I’m happy to call Dr. Alveda King a personal friend. She knows what God has told her to do and she’s taken some major heat for it. Please read this article from Alveda King about her controversial meeting at the White House. Being a part of the group present for an update on President Trump’s prison reform agenda has caused a firestorm in many circles, to say the least.
At the meeting on August 1, the President focused on prison reform and urban initiatives. The session was very encouraging as we received updates on Executive Orders regarding prison reform, the job market and job readiness, aide to foreign nations, life and more… President Trump was very interactive with those around the table. Appoint conservative jurists to the Supreme Court and federal appeals courts. At moment she could see nothing with her eyes which fall.
It’s been a week since the meeting at the White House. People have been very supportive or very hateful to those of us who attended the meeting with POTUS. I’m back now, asking for your prayers, and praying for you. Visit our webstore and check out Alveda King’s book by Elijah List Publications: America Return to God: www.
